Too Fat To Run
We have spoken with Liza from Studio 3 Arts and the Too Fat to Run club.
What is Too Fat to Run?
Too Fat to Run is a running club in Barking and Dagenham aimed at overweight and, or inactive women, mostly aged over 30 (although younger women are also welcome!).
What does the club involve?
There are lots of elements:
- A fun, monthly track session on a Tuesday at Jim Peters stadium, led by Julie Creffield, plus-size marathon runner and founder of Too Fat To Run?
- A monthly 5k in Mayesbrook Park – called One Big Fat Run, on the last Sunday of the month at 10am. You can walk, jog, or run, whatever suits you. We meet at the Better Extreme car park.
- Social meet-ups
- Social runs and walks
- An online ‘5 weeks to 5k’ course led by Julie Creffield
Who can join?
Anyone who identifies as a woman.
What level of fitness do you need?
None – everyone is welcome, regardless of experience or fitness level.
