Street Tag

Street Tag Terms & Conditions

  1. These rules apply to the street tag game (‘Street Tag’) run by the Council’s Healthy Lifestyles Team (the ‘Council’).
  2. Eligible players must be UK residents only, unless otherwise stated.
  3. The competition will run from 9am on Monday 29 January 2018 to 6.59pm on Sunday 11 March 2018.
  4. Please note that if you are selected as one of the winners, you will be invited in to collect your prizes from an office in Barking.
  5. Teams must comprise of a minimum of one player and no more than six.
  6. There is no minimum age or upper age limit to play Street Tag.
  7. To register for the game, you must download the app and complete the registration form.
  8. The registration form must list all members within the team.
  9. Each member of the team can either download the Street Tag app (available for android and iOS) to play on their devices separately or you can all play on the same device.
  10. Street Tag locations are identified on the map, available on the app.
  11. Points are earned for the team by each team member, by scanning the QR code on a Street Tag located on lampposts identified on the map provided.
  12. An additional 50 points (‘Bonus Points’) are earned by each team member, for their team, by scanning QR codes from all 20 Street Tags located on the map within 24hours.
  13. Double Bonus Points are awarded to each team member, for their team, by scanning QR codes from all 20 Street Tags located on the map within 5 hours.
  14. Participants shall conduct themselves in a safe and suitable manner when participating in Street Tag, complying with any applicable Highway Code rules.
  15. Participants who cheat (for example by scanning the same code multiple times or by driving between points) will be banned and their Street Tag account will be deactivated and their points will be erased.
  16. The top 10 leaders (those with the highest points) will be displayed on the Leaderboard.
  17. Prizes: first place prize will be bicycles with a value of up to the £1,000, the second prize to the value of £500, third prize to the value of £350 and fourth prize to the value of £150. All prize amounts stated are team prizes and will be split equally amongst each team.
  18. Members of the Healthy Lifestyles team, their family members, staff from Barking and Dagenham Council and anyone else connected to the prize draw are eligible to participate in the competition. Such persons will be eligible to play the game and to win prizes however prize winners (including employees/spouse/children) will be required to donate prizes to a suitable nominated cause/person(s).
  19. In the unlikely event of the prize not being available, the Council reserves the right to provide a similar prize of equal or greater value.
  20. Rewards or prizes for this competition are non-negotiable, non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and (if applicable) has no cash alternative.
  21. A group cannot enter more than once; no more than one prize can be granted to any group. If it is found that the same group has been awarded more than one prize, the second value prize will be given to the next highest ranked group.
  22. The Council and its partner, Digilab, complies with all data protection legislation  and its policy means that any personal data obtained will not be shared with or transferred on to any third party without your prior consent.
  23. The Council accepts no responsibility for any additional costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
  24. The Council shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where such failure is caused by something reasonably outside its control.
  25. To the extent permitted by law, the Council excludes and shall not have any liability to any entrant or prize winner liable for any loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering this competition or accepting the prize, provided that nothing herein shall operate so as to limit or exclude the Council’s liability for personal injury or death caused by its negligence.
  26. The Council reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, prizes with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud).
  27. The decision of the Council in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  28. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Council may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in Street Tag.
  29. The Council reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Street Tag game where it becomes necessary to do so.
  30. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
