Pregnancy and smoking
If you smoke while pregnant your baby is more likely to be too small or too sick to go home straight after birth.
Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do to protect your baby’s health during pregnancy and beyond. If your partner, friends or family smoke around you, you will be exposed to second hand smoke which is dangerous, as harmful gases and chemicals are inhaled by you and your baby.
Nicotine Replacement is safe to use during pregnancy and increases the chances of stopping successfully.
Since October 2015, it is illegal to smoke in cars with someone under 18 present, you could face a fine of £50.
